Valentine’s Day is synonymous with almsgiving, showing love, kindness, and empathy. It is a global reminder of the symbolism of compassion and love for one another. It’s also a celebration that goes beyond romantic entanglement to resurrect the heart of spreading love among all and sundry. It goes in tandem with selfless love and boundless giving. It originated from the good acts of love shown by St Valentine to people around him while he lived. It is an annual celebration that all and sundry look forward to to mark their love for the important people in their lives.
At the Queen Luciano Foundation, this day became another opportunity to shower love to others and give back to the community. They have always shown that the important people in their lives are the community. Everybody in society without any form of discrimination or ss. bias
2024 Valentine’s Day celebration at Queen Luciano Foundation
Queen Luciano Foundation (NGO) is a non-governmental organisation that has “LOVE” as the manure that gives life to their existence. They seize every opportunity therein to extend kindness and empathy to everyone in society. Every month becomes a special period for them to give back to society and also put smiles on the faces of anybody within their reach.
On this note, the entire Queen Luciano Foundation (QLF) staff stormed the streets of Akure South, Ondo State and Benin City, Edo State, for the 2024 Valentine’s Day celebration. While the Akure branch team went around the streets of Shagari village, the Benin City branch matched around the streets of the Igobi community for this show of gesture. Armed with boxes of gifts, they went on the mission to put smiles on the faces of anyone who crossed their paths. Contained in those gift boxes include foodstuffs and groceries.
The beneficiaries range from market women, men, roadside sellers, and passersby. While the team met some of the beneficiaries along the road and in their various shops, they stumbled upon others on the road as they went around the street mission with excitement.
With these loads of gifts, all that benefited were more than happy to take a shot with the team. With a heart full of gratitude, they thanked the founder, Queen Luciano, and the board of trustees for their generosity on such a great day.
The extension of love and exchange of gifts was internally done among the staff and volunteers. Even though none of them were expecting such a show of love, the surprises on their faces were priceless. The entire staff and volunteers of both the Benin and Akure branches happily went home bearing a gift hamper. Their gift hampers also have groceries, like beverages, milk, sugar and custard. It also contained foodstuffs, such as rice, vegetable oil, seasonings and salt.
During this show of love, it was observed that programs like this can remind people that they are loved even in most of the country’s economic conditions. You can imagine a man who owns a Toyota Camry car parked his car to also receive his gift. This shows the extent of the hardship of the country. And all thanks to the foundation for the opportunity to bring smiles and hope to the daily bread of such individuals. Everybody that received a gift from the foundation couldn’t believe their eyes and they couldn’t stop thanking and praying for the foundation.
