International Day of the Girl Child is an internationally recognized  observance on October 11 every year, it is a day set aside to project the empowerment of the girl child and their voices held. International Day of the Girl Child identifies the importance, power, and potential of every young girl by advocating for the creation of more opportunities for them. Challenges the girl child face around the world include: gender based violence, bullying child marriage, genital mutilation to mention a few and the day is set aside to eradicate all these challenges.

The 2022 International Day of the Girl Child was celebrated in grandstyle with the student of Fiwasaye Girls Grammar School Akure as Queen Luciano Foundation Crew visited the school to celebrate the special day and sensitized the adolescent girls on the theme of the celebration for the year 2022.

The activities started at 12:40pm with 300 students on seat and the secretary of the foundation gave a brief introduction of the foundation to everyone present, immediately after the introduction, the manager of the foundation took over and did justice to the theme of the day “OUR TIME IS NOW: Our Rights, Our Future!” while other members of the team ensured proper coordination. After the talk, they were sensitized on the need and use of sanitary pads by the team.
